Updated News Release: 1U 12 Bay SAS RAID Units
Sacramento, CA, May 1, 2008 - Adjile Systems is now shipping
a low profile SAS RAID units with JBOD expansion enclosures, capable of providing low profile 2.5" SAS drives requiring 40% less power than Traditional 3.5" SAS drives. The new 1U units also use 40% less power than the 2U 12 bay units.
Now Qualified: The New 500GB Hitachi Enterprise SATA drives running at 5400 RPM. These new drives operate on about 70% less power than the 3.5" drives but still offer a faster response and much lower heat dissipation. Adjile Systems is the first to qualify the drives in the single controller units. You will still have to use the SAS drives on the dual controller units.
The ESB12S-G1030 tested with 12 drives in a RAID 5 configuration gave you 5.1TB usable storage running redundant power at .9 amps on 230vac with a usage of just 207 watts or 4.97KWH per day.
RAID
The new 1U foot print saves power, space and runs cooler than traditional units with no loss of function, performance or reliability. The units come with SAS 3Gb or 4Gb Fibre Host interface. They have Single or Redundant Controllers. They come with Embedded Network monitoring Software called RAIDWatch™. EonPath™ multi-pathing software is now available and SANWatch™ Network monitoring with Snapshot capabilities.
All drive trays are independent and hot-swappable. Hot-swap power supplies, fan modules and controllers(Dual Controller Versions).
JBOD Expansion
Expansion can be achieved for SAS drives with the 1U 12 bay or SATA drives through the 2U 12 bay enclosures. Expansion is through a 12Gb port to reduce loss of performance as your system grows.
