Adjile Provides SAS Storage System

Sacramento, CA, September 3, 2007 - Adjile Systems is now shipping a SAS RAID units with expansion enclosures, capable of providing inexpensive large capacity SATA drives or performance based SAS drives in the same enclosure.

RAID
SAS(Serial Attach SCSI) is replacing parallel SCSI. With Parallel SCSI reaching it's limit of performance, SAS is taking over. The new SAS systems can use both SAS and SATA drives in the same enclosure.
With the SAS Multi-lane host interface, a 3Gb x 4 port, you can potentially have a 12Gb Transfer.

JBOD Expansion
With a single controller and a 3Gb SAS Channel host port, the JBOD units deliver tremendous flexibility, expansion and value for the direct-attached storage environments. The JBOD's can be configured for use with either SAS or SATA drives.

The SAS Product Features include:

• Massive storage capacities, up to 88 terabytes
• High availability and fault tolerance
• Bandwidth up to 1200MB/Sec.
• Single and Dual controller units with 256mb DDR400 memory, upgradable to 2GB
• 2 x 3Gb SAS host channels and 1 x 3Gb SAS drive channel for expansion per controller
• 12 or 16 SAS/SATA hot swap drive bays
• Dual hot-swap power supplies & cooling fans
